From the 1st July 2021, the West Essex IAPT service (currently named Healthy Minds) will transfer to VITA Health Group, instead of the current provider Hertfordshire Partnerships NHS University Foundation Trust (HPFT).
This page will be regularly updated with the latest service information, please check back regularly.
Support in a crisis
Our Service is not able to provide immediate support in crisis. If you, a family member or friend are in crisis and need help, please dial NHS 111. If you are under the age of 18, please call 0300 555 1201. Please click here for information on support available.
Can I still refer to the service?
Yes, the service will continue to operate as usual and accept referrals. However, the way people make referrals will change from the Friday 25th June where the online self-referral form will be temporarily suspended. At this point we encourage people to continue to make referrals via telephone, please contact 0300 222 5943.
What if I am waiting for treatment at the time of transfer to VITA?
If you are waiting for treatment at the time of transfer, your care will automatically transfer to VITA. A member of the team will contact you to make an appointment.
What if I have started treatment before the 1st July 2021?
The service will continue to offer treatment until the point of transfer.
After the 1st July when the service has transferred to VITA, you should be able to continue with treatment, most probably with your current therapist. If your therapist is not going to be available from 1st July, they will work with you to ensure your treatment continues. Transfer of your care will happen automatically - you will not be required to do anything other than attend agreed sessions.
What will happen to my information?
To allow VITA to continue to provide your care, we will be transferring your medical records from HPFT to VITA. We are required to do this by law, and as part of the provision of Health and Social Care (GDPR Article 6 (c&e), and Article 9 (h)).
The Trust will retain a copy of your records for 20 years - this is so that we can meet our legal obligations. If you would like to access a copy of your records, please contact us at email@example.com
If you have any concerns about the transfer of information, or how HPFT is handling your data, please get in touch with our Data Protection Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org
More information about your data rights is available from the Information Commissioner's website - www.ICO.org.uk
